The month of responsible consumption invites us to reflect on the way we consume, the decisions we make every day, and, at the same time, the lifestyle we lead. It is an invitation to review what our relationship is like with ourselves, with others and with nature.
A sustainable lifestyle is one in which you are aware of the impact of your decisions, habits and behaviors, and you take action to reduce those with a negative impact and reinforce those with a positive impact. Seeks to be Sustainable Over Time: one feels in balance with oneself, with others and with nature; understanding the interrelation and interdependence that exists between the parts.
The purpose of this article is to publicize what is happening today in relation to responsible consumption in Latin America and the world, and what are the main trends observed: we believe that as decision makers, from our different roles, we can transform our actions to enhance the positive impact.
Let's design a tailor-made strategy
Today, but also always, at Kolibri we invite you to take care of yourself and treat yourself well, to give yourself space. We believe that it is extremely important to observe our lifestyle from the multiple roles we play (mother/father, colleague, leader/boss, friend, consumer/user, etc.) to become aware of the multiple opportunities and ways in which we can transversally integrate sustainability into our decisions.
We know that this is a challenge. We know that we are often drawn to adopt a more conscious lifestyle, but we are halfway there, overwhelmed by the amount of changes we can make and the lack of clarity about what the first step should be. It's clear that yes or yes we have to rethink the lifestyle we lead, but it's starting small. Step by step. We have to avoid our endless to-do lists because they are not the best way to start: who covers a lot, little squeezes, isn't it? And today we really need the changes that everyone adopts to be lasting and sustainable.
At the collective level, these changes are also being adopted by organizations that every day put more and more people at the center of solutions and integrate the environmental axis into the value proposition. At Kolibri, we are convinced that leading organizations are those that manage to integrate environmental variables into their business models.
We know that the path is often not easy and that the context can seem hopeless. But, at Kolibri we want to convey to you that you are not alone, that it is essential to move from 'me' to 'us' and that we are increasingly working as a team to carry out concrete actions to take care of the environment, both in our personal lives and at the level of organizations.
